Using PowerPoint to Make Presentations
Please note that the classroom student computers do not have Powerpoint on them. Powerpoint is currently only on the computer lab computers.
1. Click Start –Programs –
Microsoft PowerPoint or the PowerPoint desktop icon
2. Click the AutoContent Wizard button. This will give you a predefined set of slides and format. This in general is the easiest way to do a slide show. Click Presentation Type on the left and click the ALL button. Now click Training. The other choices are
a. start from a Blank presentation.
b. open a previous slide show.
c. or design your own template.
3. Notice you have window in to the left. This is list of predefined slides all ready outlined for you. You just need to fill in the information. The first slide is the title
slide. To change the title of the slide, highlight the text on the right in the slide and then type in your information –or- you can type in the text on the left side of the screen.
4. Now, move on to the next slide. It is labeled introduction.
Add in an introduction to your slide show. Follow the slide outline for the introduction slide. Add/subtract what you wish.
7. Again, the text on the slides can be edited from the outline on the left or the slide view on the right.
Fonts on the slides can be changed just as you would in MS Word. Goto to Format-Fonts and change color,size, etc. .
Bullets are added by clicking Format-Fonts. Click which style you wish to insert and then click OK

Transistion pattern between slides Click Slideshow-Slide Transistions. Choose your pattern you wish to move from one slide to the next. Also, you can have the show move to the next slide with the click of the mouse (default) or move automatically by clicking the move automatically box and set the number of seconds it pauses on that slide. Also notice you can add sound in this window.
Text Tricks In the slide view to the right, highlight the text you want to do special effects. Right click your mouse button. Choose Custom Animation and then choose the effect you want on the text.
