Notes about working on the network in the computer lab
1.Make sure you have signed the policy sheet for using the internet, computer lab and the school computers. If you have not signed one, then ask your classroom teacher for a sheet to sign.
2.When your class comes to the computer lab, there is almost always an activity assigned by either Mr. Deavers or your classroom teacher. It is not a time to do as you wish. Not following the class activities when you are in the computer lab may result in the loss of your computer privileges.
3.When you work in the different application programs notice that you have an E:/ drive with your username beside it. This is a secure/safe disk space to save your files on the network. No one else can access your files. It is not safe to store files on the C:/ drive because other people can access your files, change them or they may be deleted!!
4.Some functions on the computer lab computers have been cut off.
Some of those are: the drives in my computer and the Find/ search item on the task bar.
5.If you need to save or open a file on the a:\ drive; then click the Shortcut to 3 2 Floppy Drive on the desktop or save or open the file from the program itself on the a:\ drive.Internet Explorer does not open the a:\ drive.
